Conversion of fluid ounces to metric
     
35 fl oz (approx 1¾ Imperial pints) = 1 litre(1000 milliliters or 10 deciliters)
1 Imperial pint (20 fl oz) = approx 600 ml (6 dl)
1/2 Imperial pint (10 fl oz) = 200 ml (3 dl)
1/4 Imperial pint ( 5 fl oz) = 150 ml (1½ dl)
4 tablespoons (2½ fl oz) = 70 ml (7 centiliters)

In British cookery books, a gill usually 5 fl oz (1/4 pint), but in a few localities in the UK it can mean 10 fl oz (1/2 pint).
